Addressable Subscriber Products include the Addressable Multi-Tap (AMT) our complete line of Interdiction product; and the TV Channel Blocker (TVCB). By placing the subscriber electronics outside the home, the cable operator still maintains complete, addressable control of the tap from the headend, but gains operational efficiency, marketing flexibility, and increased signal security. These subscriber units have undeniable operational advantages.
The AMT is an addressable tap that provides on/off functionality of the entire tap bandwidth (5-1000 MHz). It is similar to a traditional passive multi-tap, except that each individual port has an address. The address allows the AMT to be remotely controlled from a main office. It is based upon the Lindsay LGT series of passive taps.
All Interdiction products begin with addressable tap
functionality. Unauthorized channels are jammed with the use of frequency
agile oscillators in an off-premise device. Digital cable, data and
telephony signals pass transparently through the Interdiction Unit
in both the
forward and reverse path.
The TV Channel Blocker (Web site) provides addressable control to block up to 80 channels of unwanted content from the household. It is ideal for those households presently without set-top boxes.
